We’ve been in Seattle for less than 24 hours. I love this city, always so full of promise without any level of intimidation, like the cool kid in school who was genuinely nice. I was out on my sister’s patio admiring the stormy cityscape, familiar butterflies and exhilaration hitting me as the lights winked at me from across the water. I took a deep breath and let the sounds of the night settle upon me, dusting me in a glittery, big city glow. Then I turned and peeked through the window and saw a kind of sparkle no city could ever rival, no matter how spectacular. At peace in the city. Happy holidays, indeed.
