SlogHer

Left the hotel before 9am yesterday. Bolted to SFO for an 11 am flight.

WRONG.

Flight delayed. Rescheduled. Waited with Grandma for 1:30 flight.

Necklace stolen. Car seat reclaimed and cumbersome.

Wait. Wait. Wait.

Flight to Vegas harrowing.

"Worry not, they are holding your planes." YAY!

WRONG.

Plane left. Amanda and Fin not so much.

5:45pm agent finally talks to me.

Off to Baltimore. Thought we were going to die in turbulence over Denver.

Arrived here at 2:45 am. No drinking craptastic Starbucks disk coffee.

Fly out at "10:55am" today.

We shall see. Not holding my breath.

I nominate Fin for "Best baby ever to travel the x-country twice in a week."

Will post pics and better words when i don't feel as though I have macrame back muscles and back alley dumpster teeth.

oh Amanda, I was hoping you made it home last night. I saw that late evening tweet and felt so bad for you and little Fin. Well, I hope you have a smooth trip today, almost time for you to jump on that flight.

You are so brave, traveling with a baby. I don't know how you did it with Fin.

Hope you had a great time.

(And if the back muscles weren't so painful, I'd say that line - macrame - made me laugh.)

Take care and enjoy those girls and hubby.

Oh how I feel for you. Slightly reminiscent of an evening spent listening to the ding, ding, ding of slot machines in the LV airport while waiting for another missed flight with a 3 month old trying desperately to sleep amidst the din of noise. Traveling with a baby = no fun. Traveling with a baby amidst missed flights, delays, etc. = crap. I feel ya'. Hope you're home safe, snug, and sound by now.

Oh no! Flying is getting harder and harder it seems. Hope you at least get a little rest (uh huh, sure) before you sit down to write again.

Oh behalf of the city of Denver, I hereby issue a formal apology for the turbulence. Just think of it as a little "hi" from us ~ wishing you'd stopped by here on your way home! ;)

Hope you had a great time ~ Go Fin for being a rock star traveller!

Am I the only one who didn't meet you? Still so sad. Sorry to hear about the crap trip back home. Keeps my meager 1 hour delayed flight in perspective. I was in awe of you and everyone else who traveled with a wee one. I don't think I have the ovaries to pull that off without it ending in a straitjacket.

Ugh! Cross country is a flight disaster in itself and I swear it takes patience to fly. You did it with a sweet little baby and didn't lose your mind. That's an amazing accomplishment. I don't have the guts to fly with my child and he's almost four years old.

And what is it with all the asshats on planes that give parents with small children the dirtiest looks when they board the plane with their babies?

I wanted to smack one guy to said loud enough for the mother sitting behind me to hear, "Shut the baby up already." I was PISSED. I think I might have bumped him with my laptop bag kinda on purpose when we finally landed and got off the plane.
